HEARTSMAP Tool Access
Please note the following:
  • Registration and use of HEARTSMAP is intended solely for emergency department clinicians (physicians, nurses, social workers, etc.) in the BC Health Authorities. Other use is nonpermissible.

  • HEARTSMAP for clinicians is only accessible while logged into a Health Authority Network (i.e. Health Authority wifi) while in an emergency department. We recommend using the following web browsers: Google Chrome, Internet Explorer 10, Mozilla Firefox, or Safari.


HEARTSMAP Tool Test Entry
Please note the following:
  • Upon completion of registration, clinicians may practice using the HEARTSMAP tool by completing a test entry.

  • To submit a Test Entry: log in, complete your scoring, and select the TEST ENTRY - DO NOT COLLECT DATA option from the "Please select your Health Authority" drop down list when prompted. Then select "Yes" to confirm that you would like to submit a test entry.

  • Data entered in a test entry will NOT be collected.

Instructions for Registration and Training:

Please note: Registration is intended solely for emergency department clinicians (physicians, nurses, social workers, etc.) in the BC Health Authorities.

  1. Prior to registering, please watch the HEARTSMAP Training Video, located in the resources page, or here.

  2. After watching the video, click on the Registration link above. We recommend using the following web browsers: Google Chrome, Internet Explorer 10, Mozilla Firefox, or Safari.

  3. Complete the Registration form and hit submit.

  4. After submitting the Registration form, you will be taken directly to your first of three fictional training cases. Please note: successful scoring of case 1 will allow you to access case 2; successful scoring of case 2 will allow you to access case 3 – the cases must be completed in order.

  5. If you must leave a training case part way through, click the Save & Return Later button at the bottom of the page. You will be given a return code and survey link that are both required to access the training cases at a later time. Please write down the return code, and either bookmark the webpage, or enter your email address in the box provided to have the webpage emailed to you.

  6. Your username and password will be sent to the email you used to register after correctly scoring all three training cases.
